Young players on the rise: Five Indian emerging players who stood out in IPL 2023
Jaiswal scored 625 runs in 14 matches in a breakthrough tournament and ended as the fifth highest run-scorer of the season. He also became the fourth youngest player to score a century in the history of the IPL.
Sai was the top performer for Gujarat Titans in the IPL 2023 final against Chennai Super Kings where he played a sensational innings of 96 off just 47 balls- the highest score by an uncapped player in the history of the Indian Premier League final.
The left handed batter from Hyderabad had another phenomenal season playing for the Mumbai Indians. In 2023, he scored 343 runs in 11 matches at an average over 40 and a strike rate of 164.11 as a middle order batsman.
Wadhera, at 23 years of age, made his debut in the IPL this season playing for MI, scoring 241 runs, at a SR of over 145 . Their middle order has been nothing short of a revelation this year, helping the side reach the playoffs and win the eliminator.
The backbone of KKR this season has been Rinku. He is one of the finest finds in this year’s IPL, scoring 474 runs at an average of 59.25 and a SR of 149.53. He took them across the line in many tricky run chases and will be looking forward to don the Indian colours soon.
