Rezoana Mallick continues her golden run but falls during the mixed 400m relay at the U20 Asian Athletics C’ships
India started their 2023 Asian U20 Athletics Championships campaign by winning a total of 3 medals, including 2 gold medals at the opening day of the competition in Yecheon, South Korea.
The ever-improving sprinting sensation Rezoana Mallick Henna bagged the first gold medal for India in the continental championships. She clocked 53.31s to take the top position on the podium in women's 400m. Her personal best over 400m stands at 53.22s.
Having won the U18 Asian Athletics Championships title earlier this year, Rezoana is now the 400m reigning Asian champion in both the U18 as well as U20 categories.
Rezoana Mallick Heena tripped and fell during the mixed 4x400m relay final at the ongoing U20 Asian Athletics Championships in Yecheon, South Korea. She seemed to have been pushed a little by Sin Hyun Jin, who was just behind her in the race.
The 16-year-old Rezoana, who clinched the women's 400m gold medal on Sunday, however, showed excellent sportsmanship as she picked herself up from the ground and finished the race at the third position behind Sri Lanka and South Korea.
