Jordi Alba leaves Barcelona after a legendary career at the club
The Spanish full-back, who joined from Valencia in 2012, has made more than 300 appearances for the club. Alba spoke about his decision to leave and expressed that it was a well-thought decision.
He communicated that he received many positive messages from everyone and will forward to having the chance to say goodbye to his fans on Sunday at the stadium.
He also spoke about his relationship with the club president, Joan Laporta, and how he had been given the chance to decide his own destiny which he did in the end.
He is one of the most decorated players of his generation, winning six La Liga titles, five Copa del Reys as well as the Champions League in 2014-15 and the Club World Cup in 2015.
He has a year remaining on his current contract but an agreement has been reached between both parties for him to exit early.The club statement read, “Barça will always be a home for you, Jordi.”
